Quick checks
Record at 240 fps when available. ThrowLab also supports 120 fps video. A regular-speed clip may not contain enough frames for a reliable analysis.
Keep the phone roughly perpendicular to the intended throwing line and use landscape orientation.
Begin shortly before release and end shortly after the disc exits the frame. Long wind-ups or follow-throughs can make the starting frame less useful.
On the Find the disc screen, scrub until the disc is out of the hand, visible, and roughly halfway across its flight through the frame.
Analysis and billing
ThrowLab withholds a result when the tracked frames do not provide enough consistent evidence. This can happen when the disc is hidden by your hand, severely blurred, edge-on, very small, or hard to separate from a busy background. Try selecting a clearer mid-flight frame before recording a new throw.
Flat is the neutral range. Slightly hyzer and slightly anhyzer describe modest release angles, while hyzer and anhyzer describe stronger ones. Your throw style determines which direction is read as hyzer or anhyzer.
Adding a disc requires an internet connection so ThrowLab can search the disc catalog and load its flight ratings. Discs already saved in your bag remain available.
